JAMES B. FLAX   

 
Mr. Flax is admitted to practice law in both Florida and Georgia.  Additionally, he is a member of the Federal Bar of the Southern District of Florida.

Mr. Flax is certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Circuit Court Mediator.

Mr. Flax received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia with a major in journalism and a marketing and management minor in 1983.  From there he attended Mercer University where he graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1986.  

Mr. Flax began his legal career as a law clerk for Circuit Court Judge Michael Salmon in Miami.  In 1987 he became associated with the firm of Conroy, Simberg and Wilensky litigating civil liability cases.  Subsequently, he litigated commercial cases in circuit and county court at the firm of Bacen and Kaplan in Fort Lauderdale.  Mr. Flax’s primary focus was in Commercial Litigation.

 Mr. Flax later joined the Law office of Laurence Leavy and subsequently at the firm of Miller, Kagan, Rodriguez and Silver where he practiced for seven years as an associate representing employers and carriers.  Mr. Flax resigned from Miller, Kagan, Rodriguez and Silver, to become the Managing Attorney for The Zenith Insurance for South Florida, where in addition to his management duties, he practiced Workers’ Compensation in Hollywood for four years.
